About the Blog
A History of Death is a multi-platform channel dedicated to teaching you about all things death.
While there is some debate as to whether there is a taboo against death, I believe that there is a form of avoidance. A History of Death works to make death unavoidable and open the conversation surrounding death.

About the Author
Hello! I'm Kyla Hammond, Welcome to A History of Death!
A little about myself and my background, I am a graduate student at the University of Winchester pursuing my M.A. in Death, Culture, and Religion.
I obtained my B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Alaska.
Education aside, I have experience death personally, professionally, and during my education. I lost one of my close friends when I was 16 and my mother when I was 21. During my undergrad, I spent a few years as a funeral assistant at a local mortuary in my hometown, which constantly (obviously) exposed me to death and grief.
I started this blog to share with others the fascinating human history of death, and show that there is much the living can learn from the dead.
